Telehandler Operator

Job purpose

To operate a telehandler to lift, move and place materials on construction sites, whilst adhering to health and safety regulations on site. 


Duties
  • Communicate effectively with site manager daily regarding materials and supply. 
  • To have a knowledge on materials used for building homes.
  • Ensure all deliveries are checked for quality and correct quantity has been delivered. If any deliveries are short or have defects to inform the site manager. 
  • To store materials correctly and efficiently in the compound and on site. 
  • Ensure that the correct materials are being used on the correct properties. 
  • To ensure that the telehandler is inspected on a weekly basis and plant reports to be carried out weekly. 
  • To keep the telehandler to a clean and acceptable standard.
  • Ensure all materials loaded out on platforms are safe and to the maximum safe weight on the platform. 

Skills required
  • Strong communication skills to be able to communicate clearly with team members and the site manager. 
  • The ability to work on your own and unsupervised.
  • Good knowledge of site safety regulations. 
  • Good knowledge of the building / construction trade.
  • Full UK Driving license.
  • Hold an appropriate Telehandler drivers license.
  • Hold a current appropriate CPCS / CSCS card
